Are Birds This Strong In The Air

An American Airlines flight had to return to a Seattle airport after it was hit by a bird on takeoff, leaving a large dent in the plane's nose.The pilot informs air traffic controllers he has to land again after the impact shortly after takeoff in Seattle.

The Port of Seattle said workers would send the animal's remains to the Smithsonian to determine what kind of bird it was. Am so curious to know what type of bird would be so strong to leave this type of dent on the plane.
