Popular multi award winning presenter, D1 who is now a member of APC and running for Ogun State House of Assembly, Odogbolu Constituency, according to a press release, stated his reason for venturing into politics-he had to answer the call of his people.

"...Otunba Dayo Adeneye who has been frequently summoned by his people at the Odogbolu constituency of Ogun state finally succumbed to the yearnings of thousands of young and old people in the constituency who want him to bring forth his innovative leadership to the development of his people in Ogun state".

Speaking on why he decided to run, D-One said “The invitation is an invitation to service and I am quite humbled to bring back home the entire knowledge I have garnered around the world, to change and lead. To whom much is given, much is equally expected and because my root is here I am ready to sacrifice my all for service"
