Barcelona forward Leo Messi was happy with his side’s 3-1
Champions League win over Ajax and is looking forward to the team
playing well and beating Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu this
weekend, not breaking Telmo Zarra’s La Liga scoring record.
In his post-match interview, Messi first spoke about his budding partnership with Neymar and the arrival of Luis Suarez.
“This is the Champions League and every game is difficult.
“[Neymar and I] both support the team by scoring goals and every time out we understand each other better on the pitch.
“We’re very eagerly awaiting the arrival of Luis Suarez. He went through a rough time not being able to step out on the pitch.”
Messi went on to discuss this Saturday’s El Clasico at the Santiago
Bernabeu, where he could tie or break Telmo Zarra’s La Liga scoring
record.
“We’re going there to do the best we possibly can and win. This match
won’t decide anything and there’s a lot left in the season, but we’re
going there to try and win and play well. What’s important is beating
Real Madrid, not breaking Zarra’s record.”
